Alejandro (Alex) Galvez-Pol, PhD.

I’m a cognitive Neuroscientist in the Psychology Department of the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain). Also collaborating with the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, University College London

I obtained my PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at City, University of London, and did a postdoctoral fellowship (with James M. Kilner) in the Queen Square Institute of Neurology at University College London. I was also a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute and lecturer at City, Univ. Of London. Next, I went back to the Univ. of the Balearic Islands where I am developing new paradigms using EEG, eye-tracker, ECG, and other electrophysiological approaches. I am establishing a new line of research focused on understanding how people freely interact with the environment (active sensing).

I am particularly interested on understanding how information originating from within the body (interoception) shapes our active engagement with the surrounding environment (stimuli, people, etc).
